I want to switch to O2 – can I keep my old number?

Yes - you need to get a PAC (Porting Authorisation Code) code from your previous mobile service provider, which they will be obliged to give you if you have fulfilled all previous contractual obligations.

Once you have your PAC code, switching your old number is a simple process – after purchasing an O2 mobile with a (new) SIM card, you can begin the switching process online. Go to the Online Help tab on the Help menu of the O2 website and click on I want to keep my mobile number. You will need to enter the following information:

  • Your old number
  • Your new O2 mobile number
  • The number of your new SIM card
  • The PAC from your current Service Provider
  • Contact details, your name, address, etc

Your old number should be ported to your new O2 phone within 5 working days upon O2\'s receipt of your details.

I have a contract with O2. Can I upgrade?

You can usually upgrade in the last month of your contract. If your monthly bill is regularly greater than £40, you may be able to upgrade earlier; early upgrades typically involve having your new contract extended by the number of months you had left over on your previous contract.
What are the different types of Tariff available?
